Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News
The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.
The first season introduces a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.
The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator commented recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season moves, and how many of what they're waiting for happens now.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
